Green Living: Jeanne has been doing her part to preserve the environment by
keeping old furniture from ending up in landfills for 30 years. From an early age she was influenced by her grandmother's
love of nature and desire to leave this earth in a more pristine condition than it was when she first arrived. Nanny always
said "Why would you throw away a perfectly good sofa when you can recover it?" Jeanne couldn't wait until
she was 6 years old, when Nanny would teach her how to use the sewing machine. It was only natural that her passion
for sewing and love of nature would lead her to a career in this field.

addition to sewing, Jeanne's other passion is yoga. Teaching for 10 years she has incorporated sewing into the discipline
by recycling jeans into yoga mat bags and fabricating meditation cushions, eye pillows, etc. The yoga journey has enhanced
her awareness of form, detail, imagination and creativity.

The creativity just keeps flowing and another artistic
phase is born. Discarded furniture is recycled, by decorative painting, with inspiration often coming from fabric designs.
In keeping with the theme of Home Fashions and her love of painting, Jeanne's entreprenaurial spirit has given birth to an
offshoot of Slipcovers and Home Fashions, www.refindfurnishings.com . To date Jeanne has participated in a number of art
shows and has recently launched a new website featuring painted furniture.
